Operation Experience: Police investigating murder in Southampton granted extra time to question man in custody

Officers continue to question one man arrested on suspicion of the murder of a man whose body was found near Cemetery Road, on Saturday 3 November.

On Friday 2 November an investigation was launched into the sudden disappearance of a 66-year-old man, from Southampton, who had not been seen since 6.30am on Thursday 1 November.

On Saturday 3 November, police officers found a body, believed to be this man, in woodland off of Cemetery Road.

Seven people were arrested in connection with the man’s death.

Six people have since been released from custody but remain under investigation and officers have been granted extra time to question a 34-year-old man.
