UPDATE: Police appeal for information following death of a man in Eastleigh

Officers are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Eastleigh.

Police were called at 5.44am on Sunday 10 March to a report of two vehicles colliding with a pedestrian on Woodside Avenue.

The pedestrian, Sagar Bhatti, 23, of Avon Green, Chandlers Ford, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family are being supported by specialist officers.

Officers are continuing their investigations to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the death.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Lee Macarthur, said: “This is a complex investigation and we are hoping that those living in the area may be able to help.

“As a result of our enquiries so far we are looking for information in relation to two different areas.

“The first is in Broadlands Avenue and we would like to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard a disturbance in this area between 5am and 5.45am on Sunday (March 10).

“If you live in the area and have CCTV, please let us know as you may have captured something which could assist our investigation.”

He added: “The second is Woodside Avenue, where the collision took place.

“We’re still keen to speak to anyone who was driving along this road between 5.30am and 5.45am.

“If you saw anyone in the area between these times or think you may have captured something on your dash cam then please let us know.

“Even the smallest bits of information, that might not seem significant to you, may turn out to be very valuable to the investigation, so please do get in touch.”

Two men, aged 26 and 29, from Eastleigh, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are currently in police custody.
